Europropre 2023 Innovation Awards: four categories

The theme of "user-driven cleaning" has emerged in recent years, with the intuitive idea of cleaning services that adapt to users' real needs in an optimized service logic (rather than that of a systematic and recurring service). However, behind this generic expression, there are sometimes very different acceptances of this notion.
The FEP has conducted a study on this subject, which has made it possible to identify the reality of the various forms of so-called "on-demand" intervention and to adopt a certain number of recommendations to ensure that these practices develop in the interest of all stakeholders by allowing for the optimization of customer satisfaction as well as of the intervention and working conditions of companies and their agents.
What are the best practices identified today in this area?

The cleaning sector is undergoing an unprecedented digital shift to enable its companies to gain in serenity, quality of service and simplify the daily work of their teams.

In this workshop, I'm going to introduce you to Valida, a natrual cellulose produced by pure mechanical processing.

Valida is fibrillated cellulose, and can be best visualized as a micro tree, containing many branches and roots. Valida has an extremely large surface area, and this is why we can create a durbal 'paper' out of it containing ingredients associated with detergents.

The paper is easy to dissolve in water, releasing the ingredients to become active during the washing cycle.

Additionally, Valida can separate incompatible ingredients from each other, opening up the possibility to formulate combined products which are normally not compatible with each other.

Musculoskeletal disorders are the leading cause of recognized occupational illness in the sector. The analysis and characterization of these risks on construction sites are decisive in limiting the occurrence of occupational diseases. The capitalization of more than 10 years of experience on the subject has enabled the branch to create a tool consolidating risk situations and good practices to prevent them. However, their positive effects on society are sometimes underestimated. What is the social and environmental impact of these activities? The increasing production of digital data, in the context of or in parallel with cleaning services and related services, offers new opportunities to optimize services for the benefit of end users, but also raises questions about what can be done in terms of collection, processing, analysis, access and transfer of data that may be of a personal nature, in the context of the RGPD. After the production of a best practice guide on the use of digital data, FEP and its client stakeholders are committed to efficient and responsible practices in this area. How to optimize the use of digital information while complying with the regulations and protecting the personal data of the entire system of actors?

The health crisis has highlighted the need for employees of service sector companies and occupants (employees, clients, users) of establishments open to the public or transport to have safer and healthier premises with reinforced hygiene conditions adapted to the health situation. The 4th National Health and Environment Plan reminds us that, in order to protect human, animal and environmental health, it is necessary to adopt a reasoned approach to the use of disinfectants in order to limit their dispersion in the environment and prevent the imbalance of ecosystems and the appearance of resistance phenomena.
How should cleaning companies address this issue and strengthen their expertise in this area?

Is the problem of the attractiveness of the cleaning professions a fatality?
The problem of attractiveness in the cleaning industry is not new, but it is becoming a major issue today, with thousands of vacancies in companies, an age pyramid that is getting older and a strong demand from companies for work-study programs. However, this labor-intensive sector has undeniable advantages: diversity of professions, variety of working environments, technical skills, career development, etc., which are still not sufficiently valued.
So how can we overcome this problem of attractiveness? How can we rethink our recruitment and loyalty strategy? Are employer branding and new managerial approaches an answer?
